Mental health skill-building services shall be defined as goal directed training to enable individuals to achieve and maintain community stability and independence in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment. 
Our professional are dedicated to helping individuals and families learn to adjust and cope to mental health conditions, as well as learning how to manage non-productive symptoms and behaviors.

Who can qualify?
Individuals age 18 and over that meet the assessment criteria are eligible to receive mental health skill-building services. All eligibility will be determined by a clinical assessment give by provider. 

​Individuals qualifying for Mental Health Skill-building Services must demonstrate a clinical necessity for the service arising from a condition due to mental, behavioral, or emotional illness that results in significant functional impairments in major life activities. 

Your mental health provider....

...for mental health skill-building services shall have a Mental Health Community Support license through DBHDS. Individuals employed or contracted by the provider to provide mental health skill-building services must have training in the characteristics of mental illness and appropriate interventions, training strategies, and support methods for persons with mental illness and functional limitations.

Mental Health Skills Building Services (MHSS) shall be provided by either an LMHP, QMHP-A, or QMHPP. The LMHP and/or QMHP-A will supervise weekly care of services delivered by a qualified paraprofessional.
